Hello everyone! We are still buzzing with excitement from our day at the Unite Student Fayre, and we cannot wait to tell you all about it. As a partner of Unite Students, one of UK’s largest and oldest student accommodation company, we dedicated to helping international students settle into their new homes. We were thrilled to be a part of this event at the fresher’s week. Along with other amazing organizations, we set up our stand and prepared to connect with students from all over the world. The atmosphere was electric as we played fun games and gave out freebies, all while making new friends and helping students feel at ease in a new city, find places to explore, things to do and good restaurants to explore. It was truly a day to remember, and we cannot wait to share our experience with you. So, let us take a moment to recap our exciting day at the Unite Student Fayre!
Navigating the buzzing Unite Student Fayre
As we plunged into the heart of the Unite Student Fayre, we were immediately swept up in its vibrant energy. The hubbub of lively chatter filled the air as we move through a sea of freshers just embarking on their university journey, seasoned students gearing up for another year of growth, and representatives from various organisations all adding to the rich depth of experiences at the event. Our stand, a beacon of brightness and welcome, quickly became a magnet for curious students. It served as an excellent launchpad for insightful conversations and heartwarming interactions. The multitude of connections made, and stories shared truly embodied the spirit of the Unite Student Fayre – a celebration of diversity, unity, and the joy of new beginnings.
Fun Games and Freebies Galore
Our stand was not only a hub for vital information, but also a haven of enjoyment! We had a range of entertaining games lined up, offering something for everyone. What added to the fun was the prospect of winning our eye-catching freebies! We ensured our rewards were exciting – ranging from practical stationery kits and fashionable pillows to unique merchandise. Our giveaways quickly became the talk of the town, bringing a delightful buzz around our stand. Students, determined to claim these desirable items, dived headfirst into our stall, their enthusiasm and energy adding to the vibrant spirit of the Unite Student Fayre. The joyful scenes of teamwork, and healthy competition made the participation even more memorable.
Helping International Students Find Their Footing
As well as delivering fun and entertainment, the Unite Student Fayre is a platform of support, particularly for those venturing into unfamiliar territory. We got to witness first hand Witnessing the plethora of international students stepping into the unfamiliar, we took it upon ourselves to help ease their transition into Glasgow life. Our team provided valuable tips, from understanding the local customs to getting the hang of the public transportation system, even pointing out the must-visit spots around the city. We watched with delight as they began to bond over shared experiences, creating the beginnings of a community and support network. The sight of growing friendships and newfound confidence in these students were definitely the day’s most rewarding moments.
Spotlight on Other Organisations
Meeting a diverse range of organisations was certainly a major highlight of the Unite Student Fayre. Businesses local to Glasgow, charitable foundations, the Scottish Police Force, and enlightening academic societies were all represented, painting a colourful canvas of the varied facets of student life. Their stands, abuzz with activity and enthusiasm, mirrored our own, each providing a unique charm that reflected their specific ethos and mission. This range of different organisations offered invaluable opportunities for us to broaden our horizons, connect with diverse groups, and create mutually beneficial partnerships. From comparing event tactics to swapping fascinating stories, the interactions with these organisations enriched our Unite Student Fayre experience in many delightful ways. As the afternoon progressed, it became clear that each group, with its unique stance, contributed to the experience, amplifying the appeal of the Unite Student Fayre.

Reflecting on our journey through the Unite Student Fayre, we are filled with contentment and appreciation. This event provided us an exceptional opportunity to actively engage with the lively student community and diverse organisations that exist within Glasgow. We take immense pride in having played a role in an occasion that cherishes variety, encourages knowledge, and cultivates a communal spirit amongst students. We will be back next year.
