We recently had the pleasure of visiting Foundry student accommodation in Glasgow as part of our mission at Banana Monkey Global to introduce international students to culture in Glasgow, fascinating things to do, and fantastic dining options in the city. Our aim is to help students become familiar with their surroundings and enhance their academic experience in the city of their Choice.
The Warm Welcome at Foundry Student Accommodation
As soon as we set foot in Foundry student accommodation, the warm welcome enveloped us. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. Their commitment to ensuring that every need of the students is catered to within the facility was evident. This warm reception at Foundry was a testament to the supportive and caring community that international students can be part of during their academic journey in Glasgow.
Getting ready to rumble!
My colleague Molly and I arrived at Foundry armed with an abundance of information to support the students in their new city life. We set up an engaging stand, packed with informative leaflets and resourceful material, tailored to aid their smooth transition.
Eager to help them understand what Banana Monkey Global can offer, we spent time explaining our role in helping them settle in and indulge in the wonderful city of Glasgow. Our stand quickly became a hub of interaction, with students showing keen interest in what we had to say.
We found that these personal interactions were instrumental in bridging the gap between unfamiliarity and comfort, providing a platform for international students to ask questions, voice their concerns, and learn more about the exciting adventures that Glasgow holds. Rather than just another event in their calendar, we ensured our visit became a starting point for them to navigate their Glasgow journey.

During our visit to Foundry, we had the opportunity to interact with a vibrant mix of students hailing from every corner of the globe. At our stand we played a game where students could win a variety of items, from a pen to a pillow. While also showcasing the groups we have available that students could join which would help them connect with other international students and make friends for life.
Our conversations were enlightening, revealing a multitude of courses being pursued and a wealth of experiences being collected in Glasgow. These international students shared their journeys so far, speaking excitingly about their academic life and how they are gradually settling into the rhythm of the city. Whether it was about grappling with new subjects or discovering the perfect late-night study snack, each story was a testament to the dynamic student life in Glasgow.
Indeed, Glasgow isn’t just a city, but a melting pot of global cultures, as exemplified by the students at Foundry.
Last thoughts; Success!
As the event ended, and the students began to go their separate ways. We began to pack up. Glasgow student accommodations are a social hub, and for anyone out there who is thinking about coming to the city of Glasgow; we would recommend. The city boasts a lively and fun atmosphere for all whom dare to visit.
We left empty handed, with most of our freebies snatches up quickly. However, we left knowing we had helped more international students understand that they can come to Banana Monkey Global if they need to explore the city, or if they have any questions about settling into city life.
